Anne & David
We are getting married!
Dénia &
& Pego
Costa Blanca, Spain
Why did we choose Dénia?
This stretch of coast is a place we've kept coming back to.
In fact, Anne discovered Dénia before she ever visited Madrid, and it clearly left an impression.
That's why we chose Dénia as our base: the sea, the Montgó, great food, and that end-of-summer feeling that makes you want to stay a little longer.
We hope these are days to enjoy together, switch off, and maybe even extend the trip if you feel like it.
Thank you for coming and sharing this with us.
Choose something that suits your plans and your ability to function the next day.
Marina and seaside
Good for groups
Sun, sea, and a mild disregard for early nights. You can book train and bus tickets on the Omio website.
Fly into Alicante (ALC)
Alicante Airport is the closest, about 1h15 by car. Hire a car or take a taxi and be done with it. There is a bus, but it stops in Benidorm and takes its time.
Fly into Valencia (VLC)
Also about 1h15 by car. You can hire a car or take the direct bus, which is simple and refreshingly free of detours.
Train to Valencia
The high speed train from Madrid takes under two hours. After that, a car will finish the job.
Ibiza & Balearic Islands
There is a direct ferry to Ibiza, should you feel inclined to extend things unnecessarily.
What to expect
Mediterranean September
Expect warm days around 26 to 30°C. Evenings are still pleasant. Light clothing will do perfectly well.
If you have the time, these are worth it.
Beaches and Coves
Rocky coves with very clear water. Suitable for swimming and light snorkelling.
Old town & port
A good place for an evening walk, with views of the castle and more places to eat than you strictly require.
Dénia Castle
A former fortification overlooking the town and the sea. Worth the walk up, taken at a reasonable pace.
Dénia takes food seriously. You will benefit from this.
Carrer Loreto
A pedestrian street full of tapas bars. Very easy to enter, slightly harder to leave.
Casa Federico
Proper Valencian rice dishes, done correctly and without interpretation.
Els Magazinos
A busy food market with plenty of options. Straightforward and consistently good.
El Baret de Miquel
Small and very popular spot in Dénia. Carefully prepared dishes, booking recommended.
Cuc de Miquel Ruiz
Newer project by Miquel Ruiz, focused on seasonal ingredients with a more modern approach.
Quique Dacosta
Three Michelin star restaurant in Dénia. Long tasting menu and a more elaborate experience.

Questions
What is the dress code?
You will look amazing anyway, but if it helps, think Summer chic or Garden Party. Light, elegant, and comfortable for warm weather and an outdoor setting.
Are children welcome?
Although we love your little ones, we have decided to celebrate this day as an occasion just for adults. We truly appreciate the effort.
Is parking available?
There is plenty of space to park at Casa Benigalip. We will also run shuttle buses between Dénia and Pego so everyone can enjoy the celebration without worrying about driving.
What’s the weather like?
Late August and early September in Marina Alta is warm, usually between 26 and 30 °C. Dress light and bring something for the evening.
Will there be an open bar?
Yes. There will be an open bar with wine, beer, spirits, and alcohol free options. You will be well looked after.
Where should I stay?
See our 'Where to stay' section for recommended hotels in Dénia.
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
You can always capture the moment, but we encourage you to be present and enjoy the ceremony with us.
